Puzzle 014: Cafeteria Cruncher (Spectre's Call Solutions)

Believe it or not, maths is actually one of my strong points. I worked this out quite quickly.

Once you've compared tables 1 and 3, and realised 1 plate of toast = 2 cups of tea, you've basically done it! read more

Puzzle 013: Bucket Race (Spectre's Call Solutions)

Hands up who ran straight for the fountains first time? This puzzle seemed so simple, but as I'm starting to realise, there's always a twist.

The complicated maze at the top works as a distraction to the real solution here. read more

Puzzle 145: Cubic Planet Map (Spectre's Call Solutions)

Hidden in the bushes near the hotel, This is far and away the most difficult puzzle yet! It had me thinking for a good 10 minutes.

I think the key is to work out the first 3 tiles underneath the starting tile. read more

Puzzle 012: Hotel Rooms (Spectre's Call Solutions)

Again, this puzzle was pretty straight forward. I was thinking about numbers, and which numbers have a flat top (as you have to go across to start with, unless you want to backtrack on yourself). read more

Puzzle 011: Assign the Incline (Spectre's Call Solutions)

Easy-peesy puzzle, this one. Managed to work it out straight away, using no hints. It is only worth 10 picarats though.

I'm loving the animals on the bikes, The cat looks like he wants to eat the rabbit. read more

Puzzle 010: Rat Rations (Spectre's Call Solutions)

Like most men, I just dived right in there without really thinking this through. After about 3 minutes of shuffling random pieces of cheese around, I decided perhaps I actually need to think about this one. read more

Puzzle 009: Certain Curtains (Spectre's Call Solutions)

After this brain teaser I thought I really must stop over analysing these puzzles. My first instinct was thinking that each number was a curtain.

So 1 would be a straight curtain, and 3 would be a tied curtain. read more

Puzzle 008: Mirror Ballroom (Spectre's Call Solutions)

This one confused me. I managed to get the correct answer after about 10 seconds, but it was more luck than judgement.

I got the part where you have to follow the laser beam around the mirrors, but didn't realise it had marked out a large arrow. read more

Puzzle 007: Mopping Up (Spectre's Call Solutions)

I thought this was the most difficult puzzle yet. I actually had to get the pen and paper out to try and work it out.

I got to 9 mops for 27 days easily enough. But then struggled on the last 3 days. My first guess was 12. read more

Puzzle 006: The Mailbox Panels (Spectre's Call Solutions)

Another Tetris type puzzle. I immediately realised it was a negative-space word. The shapes really didn't look like letters until you work it out.

This is the US version of the puzzle, I believe the UK version is called Letter Box Plate. read more

Puzzle 005: River Crossing (Spectre's Call Solutions)

This puzzle is based on the classic fox, goose and bag of beans puzzle from the 9th century. I've done similar puzzles before so managed to work it out first time.

I was tempted to leave a lone-chick by itself just for the crack. read more

Puzzle 004: Reloading the Cart (Spectre's Call Solutions)

Always was a master of Tetris. Plus, I used to do a lot of jigsaws as a child (not really out of choice, it was all grandma seemed to have for entertainment).

So this puzzle was a doddle. As grandma always used to say, start with the corner pieces first, then try to work out the rest. read more

Finally a puzzle I can do! This literally took me 10 seconds to work out. I got a little distracted at first, thinking that the '???' boxes must be an identical colour.

But then I swiftly realised that the colour was irrelevant, as some boxes can't have other boxes next to them or above them. read more

When I saw this puzzle, I was thinking sheeez... this is going to be a long 170 puzzles. I got distracted by the animals, started thinking along the lines of which animals belong to the tourists.

I mean, the dog is across the water! It must be a different day. read more

The very first puzzle! Believe it or not, I actually struggled a little on this one. Perhaps it was the pressure I was facing, to get off to a good start.

I definitely over complicated it and started searching for codes hidden within the text. read more
